1. Baseball Billiards

Inventedin 1912, Baseball Billiards is a fascinating group game. Each player has nineinnings to score as many “runs” as possible. Baseball Billiards requires 21balls and an oversized rack. Thenine ball is referred to as the “pitcher” and is set at the center of the rack.Home plate is the table’s foot spot. The intended pocket and ball must becalled on all shots, except for the break. 2. One Pocket

OnePocket is a skill and accuracy game for two players (or two teams.) Each player chooses a corner pocket and thegoal is to score a total of eight object balls before the other player. One Pocketis popular with gamblers, drawing high stakes. One Pocket can be likened tochess, with a beginning, middle, and end game. Players must be careful not toleave a good shot open for their opponent or their opponent may capitalize onthat shot, preventing further shots.

3. Bowlliards

Asthe name suggests, Bowlliards borrows its rules from ten-pin bowling.Bowlliards can be used as a training drill. At the start of each frame, tenobject balls are racked with the front ball at the foot spot. The first playerbreaks and tries to pocket as many balls as possible until missing. Thiscontinues until all players have attempted. If there are still balls on thetable, the first player gets another turn. Players can score a strike or spare,as in ten-pin bowling.

4. Bank Pool

Themain goal of Bank Pool is to be the first player to bank five balls (or eight,with a fifteen-ball rack) in any order. However, each ball and pocket must becalled first, and the ball must be banked off the cushion first. The ball must not touch any others for thepoints to count, legally. A shortened version of Bank Pool became popular inthe 1990’s and early 2000’s.

5. 15-Ball

Thereare several variations of 15-ball. One is to play as you would with 9-ball,attempting to hit the lowest numbered ball first. To play with points, followthe same rules as 9-ball, but balls 1-10 are worth one point each and balls11-15 are worth two point each. 15-ball can be played with two or more playersand all shots must be called. Determine the winning number of points beforeplaying and play until target points have been reached.

6. 7-Ball

7-Ballis a rotation-based game, invented in the 1980’s. Balls 1-7 are rackedhexagonally, with 7 at the center, 1 at the apex, and the rest of the ballsplaced clockwise. After the break, the first player will choose one side ofpockets. The goal is to sink the ballsin descending order, without scratching the 7.

7. Cutthroat Pool

CutthroatPool is an exciting game for groups. Each player must attempt to pocket theiropponents’ balls before their own are pocketed. After the break, each playerclaims a group of balls. Once a player pockets an opponent’s ball, they keepshooting until they commit a foul or scratch. The winner is the last playerwith their claimed balls on the table.

Each ball has a number, but in 'eight-ball' the order of potting them is optional. There are also several different rules regarding this game. Most important, however, is that a player who pockets the black ball before clearing the table of their own balls loses immediately. Cue-ball fun

Snooker is another popular form of cue game. In this game, the play takes place on a larger table but both the balls and the pockets are noticeably smaller. It utilizes 22 balls of different colors, including white, red, yellow, green, brown, blue, pink and black. There 15 red balls are arranged at the beginning of the game in a pyramid, and the other colors are spread out on a table in accordance with the rules of the game.

The cue may strike only the white ball. The balls must be hit in the correct order - alternating red with a color. Each color has its own points value. The aim of the game is to get as many points as possible.

Blackball uses 15 colored balls and a cue ball. Blackball is a British variant of 'eight-ball'.The main difference compared to 'eight-ball' is the fact that the balls for a blackball game are of two different colors, without numbers. Most often half the balls are yellow and half red. The game also ends when the black ball is potted.

Nine-ball is a kind of pool game that uses nine numbered balls and a cue ball. The main rule of 'nine-ball' is that players are required to strike the lowest numbered ball on the table with the cue ball. The order of potting is free, provided that the first ball hit has the lowest number, and it is not nine. After each ball potted without committing a foul, the player can stay at the table and take another shot. The game ends when ball number nine, which is the only one to have a stripe, is potted correctly.
